It's not that being nice by itself is the problem, but that, being only nice isn't always good. Keep the niceness, but learn more, like... getting more experience (as someone being naive and also a newcomer). Neon herself is also typically nice to others (.. including Kanato), though so far it's her who's getting helped by others, still someone giving an advice can be those who isn't drastically different (happened in KR before too.. like Hirose calling out Kenzaki for not understanding people's stakes at Blade ep. 2, due to him moping, not Kenzaki actually not caring, obviously he's not that).

This shows that, people cannot be truly controlled (other than forcibly taking away their freedom or such). Even if DGP would encourage good deeds or at least sportmanship, there'd be those who use it this way. Exploits of indirectly killing NPCs... that's what Yuya's Ex-Aid was about in Parado, someone who can't differentiate between real life person and NPCs in his villainy.

Oh right, I got some... likely Imperer vibes from Mary (though the one who's constantly trying to team up with anyone like Imperer was Neon previously), that those are the Riders in battle royale season that put a friendly front that makes it creepy as it hides their sinister side underneath.
