Beyond "Calibur isn't Kento's dad", I'm not sure I've got investment in the other mysteries of the show to try and puzzle them out. I'm just not that guy. I look forward to how our heroes respond to the eventual revelations!

here, but Taiga's sort of a different thing? He's
directly responsible
(if memory serves) for his tragic, guilty backstory -- Kento's a kid whose dad became a supervillain, and sort of internalized the shame in a supremely unhealthy way. Taiga's story is about earning redemption through seeing the limitations of individual responsibility; Kento's story is about not letting someone else's choices dictate your own.
But I do see your point, and I don't think you're wrong about Kento's inability to stop flagellating himself for Calibur's villainy. Kento is probably going to continue to cause problems for the Sword of Logos, so long as he keeps treating Calibur like his own personal nemesis.
