God, favorite movie Rider... my memory's terrible -- and these shows get pushed out of my brain so quickly, to make room for the current show that I need to think about daily -- but Eternal's a really good pick? I remember thinking Verde was too strong a concept to have kept just in a film. Eden definitely found some interesting depth in REALxTIME. I'd love to hear any and everyone else's picks, if only to selfishly jog my own memory!

Sure, and part of my reaction to it is from the expectation that I'd be given something other than an all-action opening act to a different film. But I... look, I'm not saying that this isn't successful as a commercial for a toy commercial TV show. I gotta think kids who hadn't sampled Saber yet were rushing home to set their DVRs afterwards. But I've seen HBVs that managed stories AND humor AND action AND new suits, all in half the time. I don't think it's impossible that this film couldn't've had a little more meat on the bone, narratively-speaking.

That's just me, though! It's clearly not what the filmmakers wanted, and (judging by the reaction in this thread) it's not something most viewers felt was needed. Giving the audience pure, unfiltered spectacle was probably the safest and most popular choice. For me though, as someone who generally loses interest in Kamen Rider movies as night descends on Kamen Rider Quarry, I would've liked to see something with a little more behind it than this.
