His whole Humanity Is Inherently Bad thing is such a random justification, though. Prior to this, he'd been hellbent on achieving his goal, and he didn't seem to care too much what the Sword of Logos thought of him. Now, he's vacillating between You Don't Know The Whole Story (while refusing to elaborate on what Touma et al. don't know) and Everyone's Awful, which is a hilariously idiotic deflection. The more dialogue they give Calibur, the more it seems like he doesn't have a single good reason for doing what he's doing.

I definitely think he's coming back. (Tassel even says that Kento "vanished", so the show isn't trying to make you think Kento's actually dead.) I honestly suspect that Kento is Calibur right now, but we'll see how that all plays out.
