Yeah, Touma... not really my guy at this point? I much prefer nearly any other pairing/grouping of characters, since they've got more weird edges. (Like, we haven't even seen Touma run a bookstore or struggle with a deadline in a while, which are his main things!) Rintaro's earnest helpfulness and lack of any amount of guile is such an unusual way to tell this story, where he comes of like the better-socialized brother of Tsurugi from Kabuto. And Mei! Mei's this lady who throws herself into any dynamic and figures out how to make it run better, which is a great Civilian role for a show like this.

For sure! They make a great pair, with Rintaro as her guide to the superhero elements of the story, and Mei as his guide to the regular world.
