Since this is a series partially founded on Narratively Convenient Amnesia... no, I don't think Touma's going to feel particularly busted up about Yuri "protecting" people by removing their memories.

I don't ever really want to get into what I'd specifically do differently with a plot, since then you're not exactly engaging with the work as is. But I think in general, I'd like to see a plot where the victim has some ability to affect their predicament; whether that's them choosing power and needing to be rescued from themself, or the hero needing to understand why the villain is targeting them, it just needs to be something where the victim makes a choice at some point.

Honestly, though, I think Touma is probably writing evocative, metaphorical fantasy tales that have a small but loyal audience. He doesn't seem like he's about to have a hit on his hands any time soon.
