It's not like these figures come with alternate faceplates so you can make your own Dino Fury Green Ranger; you have a Ranger head and a Civilian head. There is no reason why this shouldn't have been a solid piece, like every GI Joe figure ever made.

I'm not here to defend the QC stuff, that is definitely a travesty. I've been seeing all sorts of terrible issues, on top of problems that stem from the new no-plastic packaging. Hasbro may have to re-evaluate their packaging.

But I will say, that the two-piece head design is actually a solid engineering choice. In toy design, its always preferable to cast a piece in a predominant color vs painting it, especially if there multiple color layers to apply afterwards.

The visor being separate allows for much more depth to the helmet and really cleans up paint applications.
