That explains alot actually. Especially since this episode has Zaruba and Necklace Lady talk about the Knights' lives being shortened as punishment.

I don't doubt I've talked about it a little bit here and there. But yeah, I've only seen the first two episodes when they got put up subbed on YouTube, along with the occasional clip here and there via scrolling through social media.

If nothing else, Kiva certain has a really great visual aesthetic!
