I didn't say that she's irredeemable, she could still have a redemption arc, see the error of her ways and repent. Gai, for example, tortured Isamu and Yua through their brain chips and later apologized to them. At this point, I just think Reika's a terrible person, a step down from merely being Master Logos' pawn.

Of course a slap isn't that severe of an injury, but it's a matter of principle. It was a completely unnecessary reaction to a question as innocent as, "Is everyone okay?" I don't think there's a way to defend her action here, as SOL gains absolutely nothing of value.
