I was a wee lad when the Power Rangers swept the nation, but I remember loving every second of it. Catching the debut, watching reruns whenever I got home from school, renting VHS's that only had like, 3 episodes a tape.
Also owning the Green With Evil saga on VHS, which was awesome.
Power Rangers was a massive part of my childhood, and even when my friends aged out of it, I still remember my brother and I enjoying it. We were massive nerds
I watched PR consistently up until Mystic Force, which was where I kind of stopped following it at a regular basis, and Jungle Fury where I stopped entirely (Granted, I did try to watch RPM, but it was fucked over by scheduling that I could never follow it).
Power Rangers (As well as Godzilla) made me a toku fan from a very early age, so I was consuming that shit all the time. Masked Rider and the Metal Hero adaptations, SSSS, as well as even renting a VHS of Kamen Rider Kuuga from an Asian video rental store (Grandmother is Japanese, so we went to this place somewhere in Tennessee every so often. Came across a VHS called "Kamen Rider Couga" and gave it a watch. No idea what was going on, but it was neat)
For a franchise so cheesy, it has an undeniable charm and warmth to it. Helmeted heroes fighting monsters in rubber suits is something made fun of, but it's always something that made me smile, and it does to this day.
