Yeah, I mean, who would expect Takeru to use 8 Eyecons to become Ghost? That henshin would've taken way too long, so it made sense for the number pattern to be made more abstract to accommodate the need for simplicity in the gimmicks. There's usually more than one reference to the number anyway, like Wizard not only has 5 fingers but also 5 elements: Fire, Wind, Water, Earth and Holy.

It's debatable whether it can even be considered a theory at this point, as I recall the producer Ohmori Takahito himself made a statement confirming that EX-Aid is connected to the number 10 (so that means Gotchard is Reiwa EX-Aid ). If someone can find reference to 9 in Amazons, the pattern technically still works.
