[Sh Ranger]

Episode 6:

Oh hey, Fern became a Ranger already. Everybody joins Cosmic Fury before Ollie apparently. Orange's helmet is repainted from Red's, except the gold details are different to show that she uses the power of solonosaurus instead of ankylosaurus, so I think it's distinct enough. Her weapon is just a big rake though, which doesn't seem as practical as the others. It does have a chain function that provides some extra range, but I imagine that also makes it more difficult to hit.

Zayto used the power of Master Red's staff to find Solon's location in the caves, which as Billy points out is an ability only the Morphin Masters should have. Reminds me of Mack becoming the Red Sentinel Ranger, with the implication here that Zayto might not be a regular Rafkonian anymore. He also got dizzy after, so this must be connected to the tree's warning, like there's a limit to how much power he can use. However, I can't blame him for taking the risk, since Solon was way too close to becoming scuttleworm lunch.

Episode 7:

So, there's this Deathryuger counterpart, the Dark Ranger, who I vaguely recall seeing on the cover of one of the PR comics somewhere. As I haven't been keeping up on comic lore since Shattered Grid and I've yet to watch Dino Charge either, this guy is totally new to me. Anyway, he's in a love triangle with Squilia and the counterpart to Kuervo from Kyuranger, which ends with Dark Ranger revealing himself as a catfish and abducting Squilia, while Kuervo is so pathetic that Tarrick doesn't even need Void Knight powers to destroy him. This subplot is so random!

More on Zayto's condition, now that Aiyon and Solon have basically forced the truth out of him. So yeah, his life is on a timer, which hastens towards the end everytime he uses Morphin' Master magic. He speculates that the Masters might be able to cure him once they're rescued, but with the severe threat to Earth from Zedd, Zayto continues to use his magic often and swore Aiyon and Solon to secrecy so the others won't worry about him. Damn! Did the Dino Master Saber merge Zayto with the Grid? Did the Masters bestow upon him their power, knowing there was a possibility that Bajilia would capture them? There's so much they're not telling.

Episode 8:

Mucus and Slyther are back! And they're officially good guys! Squilia's gimmick kind of got old after a few episodes, so I'm glad this calamari was only the appetizer before the real main course. Can this show get any better? Mucus regrettably becoming human is even more tragic when you consider how quickly Rafkonians integrated in to human culture, so she probably could've waited a few months and then people would've accepted her as her Sporix self. Surprising to see PR tackle a moral about body dysmorphia here, but I think it's important to show that even if you think someone looks okay, they may hate the way they look and their feelings are valid. Of course, being indestructible also has its benefits, especially for a magic show. Nice of Zayto to use his magic to reverse Mucus' change, similar to how Master Green turned Steel human like he wanted.

Tarrick's line, "I know how evil they are cause I was their evil boss", sounds totally hypocritical though, like, sure, Mucus is originally one of the Sporix that destroyed Rafkon, but Tarrick literally created Slyther with the intention to commit evil deeds, so, Tarrick is pretty much entirely to blame for that until Void Queen took over. Did he learn nothing from how hard he had to try to make Zayto believe he changed, when Zayto was also hypocritical for ignoring his own liability in Rafkon's destruction? These guys should be a little more self-aware.

Mucus and Slyther, while disguised as a lawyer and Squilia (since the real one was recently destroyed) respectively, infiltrated Zedd's palace and blew up the triceratops statue to try and sever Ollie's corrupted connection to the Grid, but apparently he's still evil. I don't buy it though. I think Ollie is pretending now and that he only claimed "make them suffer for betraying their emperor" as an evil-sounding excuse to prevent Zedd from destroying Slyther (since Mucus would've been fine regardless). It could be ironic and satisfying if Ollie actually uses Zedd's evil advice against him.

Zayto's secret is now fully out in the open to his team, by his own confession after realizing how hard it must've been for Aiyon and Solon to have to act like nothing was wrong while they were actually worried about him. Reminds me of Kiramager where Takamichi tried to delay Mabusheena's curse by keeping her unaware, but the others were depressed for keeping it to themselves. If you want to keep such a painful secret to yourself, then that's your will, but once someone else finds out, then it's not fair to make them suffer for your secret, so I'm glad Zayto apologized to them here.
