Western fantasy, thanks to Game of Thrones, has turned into pseudo-historical political intrigue, where viewers are asked to choose a favorite between a rapist and a cannibal. And dark colors predominate there even visually, as if shades of dirt of all stripes are in fashion. So, from my point of view, you are again fighting in the wrong direction.
