I remember having a very visceral reaction to this two-parter back when it first aired, but I cannot remember if it was positive or negative. I suspect the latter because all of the movie stuff is very goofy and I usually appreciate it when these shows get goofy while still telling a serious story (it may not surprise you to learn that one of my favorite comic books of all time is the original 80s run of Justice League International). I'll need to see part two for a full reminder, but I am having fun with this already.

Couple of stray observations:

- An aggressively introverted character who can only communicate with others via writing in W feels super weird to watch while Gotchard is airing.

- I cannot stress how much I love that the hero of Tooru's movie only has one line that she just says over and over.

- At the time this aired, I had always assumed that Ryubee did something to brainwash Wakana into going full villain. I don't remember if that was the case or not now.
