It's probably the way Sokichi taught him! That guy was too hardboiled to have fluid typing skills. (I assume his former partner did most of the typing.)

It's such a statement, that Double fight scene with the Road Dopant. The moves are all bigger, more fantastical. The fight has that anime speed to it that live-action can never, ever get 100% right. Really impressive debut for Double in animation.

My headcanon is that Shotaro specifically got this separate apartment in the year Philip was gone, because he couldn't live at the office without his partner there.

I think Tokime works well here because, like, where else could you go with the cast as is? They've never really wanted to evolve the core trio in any sort of risky way, so adding a new character with baggage is the only way do it. She doesn't distract from Akiko or Philip, because those characters already had their individual evolutions; Shotaro arguably didn't. (I also sincerely love that married lady Akiko is like Why Don't You Sleep With Her and Shotaro is sputtering and scandalized. AKIKO! My favorite!)
