Well, if Geryon and Fuuga fought each other and both disappeared, it makes sense that one of them is a hero and the other is a villain. As for suspicions, it seems that Geryon had a better reputation. Although, to avoid mistrust, it would be much easier to simply make someone from the Council his secret accomplice.
