Minato says @ 05:08 that the king of darkness "probably" comes from the door of darkness. Duh. So, Gigist
was
the uber-demon that was defeated by the Alchemist of Dawn 12 decades ago, like he admits @ 09:36. Or perhaps 30% of the uber-demon because the door of darkness was only 30% opened by Glion, haha. That may explain why Gigist looks tame compared to the uber-demon that had been hyped by Glion and the fairy tale. Spanner
finally
loses his temper in front of the AU's top brasses due to their usual smug, idle, yet idiotic responses to the escalating situation that have made him and other low-ranked members of the AU the ones who paid the prices. So it's not so bad when Gigist vaporizes one of them, haha. Let them eat their own cooking. The AU's top brasses responses towards Glion's bullshits and other problems are one of the several things that have allowed the idiot plot of this story to exist for this long.
Rinne mentions @ 07:58 about the existence of the so-called "golden flower" in the fairy tale about the Alchemy of Dawn. It's said that it grows in the golden hill that can only be accessed by chosen alchemists, and its pistil provides the best "spice" that can make anyone smile. I'm not sure how relevant this new information is to the story, but I think this spice could be one the key ingredients to the elixir I hypothesized several aeons ago in episode 1 thread
here
. This elixir could be important before KR Rainbow Gotchard's debut because it could be the only thing that is able to stabilize the raw powers from the Nijigon egg. If this new information
is
later proven to be actually relevant and crucial to the story then this is a very late, rushed development because it's only revealed in the last 30% of the story. It should've been gradually revealed or hinted at between episodes 10-20 when the story was still in the setup stage. This is what happens your cake is made of 95% icing. Hopper1's response @ 08:53 when he hears Houtarou mentioning his desire to acquire the golden flower (and thus the spice) could be the reason for Hopper1's solo journey in episode 37.
In the scene @ 11:52 Gigist claims to be a transcendent being that can understand everything that humans can think of, and when he mentions @ 12:44 that "the wrath of God" is a response to humans' impudence, he gives another hint about his deitic/divine nature. Does this mean that Gigist is actually some kind of God? Or rather,
the
God that created Houtarou's world? That's why he said in episode 35 @ 12:20 that he would simply rebuild Houtarou's world if it was destroyed by Hundred's WMD/time bomb. Yep, once again the big bad is very likely a God. Making the main villain an omnipotent and or omniscient and or omnipresent being is the easiest way to escalate the conflict and raise the stake of a story. "My story is better than yours because the villain is a God!"
Gigist calls Houtarou "thief" @ 15:18 and forces Houtarou to return his power, which very likely refers to the Nijigon egg inside Houtarou's body. It seems like the Nijigon egg contains a significant portion of Gigist power, though maybe not the largest one. This explains why Glion said that Houtarou was the one who forged and refined the Gotchardriver as the key that could open the door of darkness. That also explains why Houtarou is able to communicate with and understand Chemies. Gigist says @ 15:46 that the Nijigon egg was a part of Gigist body that was shattered 120 years ago, very likely when he was defeated by the Alchemist of Dawn. The Alchemist of Dawn damaged Gigist body and separated a significant portion of his power into the Nijigon egg, and then he (as Houtarou's dad) planted/hid the Nijigon egg inside Houtarou's body, or perhaps into his own body and was later inherited to Houtarou. The crucial question is: How could the Alchemist of Dawn (which was very likely a mere human) defeat Gigist (very likely a God) in the first place? The next shock factor is probably the appearance of Houtarou's dad who will reveal his identity (and face!) as the Alchemist of Dawn. At last,
the
most elusive character will probably debut on screen between episodes 37-40 and become the final ingredient for the birth of Nijigon and KR Rainbow Gotchard.
Gigist says @ 16:21 that he was the one who created Chemies, in particular Dragonalos and Gaiard, so my hypothesis
here
about Gigist/the uber-demon being Chemy #0 is proven wrong in this episode. And alchemists only imitated the other 98 ones? But if Gigist was the creator of Chemies, then why does Houtarou says @ 16:42 that Gigist is also a Chemy?
Next week:
Houtarou is depressed because he thinks he's killed Skebows. Hopper1 is going on a solo journey to find that "something" to lift up Houtarou's spirit.
