The troops of Terra Venture use the EXACT SAME suits as the ones used in the live-action SST Movie.

Scorpius and the Stingwingers and Trakeena are all insect-themed, but the theory is that this was to mesh with the fact that the early Balban Majin under Sanbash are insect-themed (and because virtually every Balban suit was being used for Gingaman VS. Megaranger, leaving the Lost Galaxy crew to find some workarounds).

It isn't long before the parallels fade away and it becomes less and less obvious, but it's pretty clear that someone recognized the potential early on and at least tried to run with it. Don't know if that's a good thing or not, but it is what it is.

Personally I liked it instead of copying and pasting the whole sheltered tribe gets raided by space pirates premise. Worked fine for Gingaman, but considering how PRiS ended what Lost Galaxy did felt like the next right step.
