Been a while since I was active here, but this sentai idea came to me in a dream so I felt I just had to tell people.

The name means Paint Sentai Color-ranger, and in case the text is hard to read, their ranger names are Redeen (red + green), Blurange (blue + orange), Yellet (yellow + violet) and Monochrome (black + white).

Yep, a sentai team themed around paint and color! I mean, all sentai are color-themed to some extent, but this one even more so. In my dream the show managed to be edgy without being dark at all: it was lively and colorful and full of fun, but also had a rebellious streak, with the rangers wanting freedom and sometimes getting in trouble with authority, lots of rough brush strokes and splatters in the visuals including monsters "bleeding" paint, and the soundtrack having more punk-rock vibes than usual for sentai.

The POV characters are Mikan Aise (美柑 藍衣聖 "beautiful tangerine" "indigo clothing sacred"), a hard-working office lady at a tech company, and Shihara Mizuki (紫原 瑞黄 "purple origin" "fortunate yellow"), a rebellious heiress to a high-class family. Both of them are feeling trapped in unhappy lives, until seemingly by chance they both find a symbol (the Iroranger logo) painted on a wall, and are approached by Nabatame Jintan (青天目 仁丹, "green heaven eye" "kindness cinnabar"), the enigmatic street artist who painted it.

He reveals that he can use paint to work magic, and painted this symbol to seek out other people who could learn this power, because he needs allies in his fight against monsters called Rorjaak (Rorschach inkblot + jaaku, meaning "evil"), who lurk as creepy abstract graffiti but then take physical form based on the fears of the first person to see them. He convinces Aise and Mizuki to join him in exchange for teaching them how to use paint magic to improve their lives, and together the three of them become the Irorangers! However, he's tight-lipped at first about where the Rorjaak come from and why he knows about them.

Bit by bit the truth comes out, especially once Shirakami Reiki (白神 黎輝, "white god" "black radiance"), the artist behind the Rorjaak, appears. Five years ago, he and Jintan were best friends who discovered the paint magic together. Reiki wanted to use it to help people, but after being mistreated he became full of hatred, which horrified Jintan. They parted ways, each developing their arts separately. Now, Reiki paints the murals that become Rorjaak as his way of taking revenge, and Jintan fights against him while also trying to help people.

As you've probably guessed from the color names, Aise is Blurange, Mizuki is Yellet, Jintan is Redeen, and Reiki eventually finds redemption (but by then the Rorjaak have gotten out of his control) and becomes Monochrome. The core trio each have a wrist changer based on a paint palette and a sword based on a paintbrush, while Monochrome has a changer based on a paint sprayer gun that doubles as, well, a gun.

Visually, each ranger has their first color for their upper half, and their second color for their lower half and the visor of their helmet, with a kind of "rough brushstroke" look where the colors meet.

The biggest problem is I'm not sure what their mecha are! I was thinking maybe just "awesome striped things" like a tiger, sports car, etc. (but I can't think of any more), or perhaps a fusion of an animal for one color and a vehicle for the other?
