It's is own thing. Enjoy. Fun fact, the voice of Koji Kabuto is Kenji Akabane who was Mach, Kiramai Green's Mashin. Also, this show was his lead role debut.

As for myself, I've been watching Kinnikuman Perfect Origin. It continues from the original manga and the manga it is base off of actually continues the number count from the original run. And being no longer serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump it gets to Kengan Ashura levels of bloodiness at times.
