Yeah, it's nice that this story is about The Idea Of Yoko's Mom, approached from two different angles. Jin is mourning a woman he knew and cared about, while Yoko is finally learning more about a mother she never really knew. Between the two of them, they're still just telling one story about Yoko, though -- how this all affects her outlook and solidifies her character is the entire point of this Jin/Yoko story.
