This might've been discussed already, but I've been catching up on Gotchard in-between episodes of Gavv, and I've been really impressed by the visual storytelling in the Malgams' designs. The monsters in so many other seasons, despite having different aesthetics, all follow the same basic design pattern of "humanoid version of whatever their theme is." For example, most animal-themed monsters, from the Shocker cyborgs to the few animal-themed Jyamato, all have the animal's head for a head, the animal's forelimbs for arms, etc. etc.

But the Malgams are different. The Chemies they're themed on are attached to them in painful-looking contortions, tied in place with strips of the base body, and with the base body's extra arms either holding the Chemy or restrained in uncomfortable-looking positions themselves. Even when they do have the Chemy's head for a head or its forelimb for an arm, it's always twisted or tied somehow.

I just think the designer (Takato Yamashita, according to the wiki) did a really brilliant job visually showing that the Malgams are combinations of two separate beings, and furthermore, that there's something deeply wrong about them.
