The Seihou line is losing some of the things that made it great in the name of swappable-armor gimmicks.
Pretty sure it was Den-O, yeah. My Rod Form is fine but then again I never attempted to swap parts because I literally only wanted Rod Form... but at the same time, nothing pops off if I look at it funny so it's already a much more solid figure.

The crest popping off is another issue I keep having but I sort of understand the reasoning behind it - considering all the stress that's going to be put on and around that area for the parts swapping it makes sense to make it removable to avoid damage.
Granted it could have been better implemented, like having a more solid connection or including a spare for when it inevitably breaks or gets lost due to how easily it pops off. If I had to guess though, this is pre-tooling for Kachidoki Arms, which I'm guessing is going to outright be a set a la Pine and Ichigo, or both a set and a full figure depending on the buyer's preference.
It's devilish in any case.

I'd been hoping Shinkocchou Seihou would finally get around to Fourze, but now, I'm significantly less excited, given we can pretty much assume Bandai will return to the limb-swapping.
I backtracked for Kuuga Rising Dragon a few months ago and it's amazing how a now ten-year old design holds up so incredibly well against newer, more complex figures. I really feel like, as neat as integrating the gimmick stuff into the "premium" line is on paper, we wouldn't have really lost out if they'd just stuck to updated designs with more realistic proportions.

Only issue I really have is the sculpting on the feet can make him a little tricky to stand sometimes, but otherwise he's one of the best Seihous I own. I'm hoping Baron will be in the same ballpark.
With all the parts going into it there's bound to be more than a few stinkers, unfortunately. But my Choudan Kadou YST figures are a lot more solid and secure with all those armor pieces than my Gaim or Baron are with just the chest parts. And good to know the stability issue isn't just me.

See, now things turn around because I never had an issue with any of the OOOs figures but then I really didn't pose them that much, let alone try the Combo Change more than once because dear Godoka that was a panic-inducing experience.

Well on mine everything falls off rather easily and the joints are so loose you can do the helicopter if you slightly shake it. It handles like a lousy knock-off toy.
Sometimes you win the QC lottery and sometimes you lose I guess. I just wish I hadn?t lost on this specific release.
From the sound of it we've had more losers than winners, but I suppose it's all subjective. There are plenty of people who're happy with these, and I'm happy for them.
At the same time, I'm coming at this from a line with a much more involved armor swapping gimmick created by a team that's maybe as big as the one Bandai had working on... Rebel Moon, I guess?... and has a much more exciting and solid execution. So despite everything and knowing full well Bandai Gonna Bandai, I expected better.
Lesson learned, I suppose.
