But I do like how Yoko?s cliffside sequence feels like it?s in conversation with the first Ruji Overheats episode. That one is about Yoko needing to reconcile the loving older brother with the flawed soldier, while this one?s about reconciling her own autonomy with a need to respect Ryuji?s feelings. She had to learn how to
see
Ryuji before, and now she has to learn how to see what she means to Ryuji. All that, plus she has to physically confront the monster that used to terrify her, all to save him from himself. It?s as neat a bookend as you could get for that relationship, regardless of how the episode chose to get there.
Feels like dramatic sequences always happen on the cliff. For sure, it's a strong emotional climax with Yellowbuster having to fight Berserk Bluebuster who made her cry the first time. But Yoko's not that scared crying kid anymore, she's endured much worse than this and now it's her turn to repay the favor to her big bro for taking care of her for so many years, as she's strong enough to take care of herself and save Ryuji from himself, showing how the two of them are equals. It's a sweet conclusion to their development arc. In contrast, the Beast Morphers version of this episode was terrible, due to ending on a notoriously problematic message!

I never really talked too much about Escape?s death, because it felt so hilariously inconsequential that I assumed she?d be back in some form before the final finale. (Although, I really did like her devotion to Messiah being of absolutely no interest to his howling hunger. Good note for that arc!) Enter?s destruction was of the same Question Rather Than Answer variety, so I barely mentioned it. And here they both are! Ironed-hair Enter and Flowered-hair Escape! I like the evolution of Enter?s powers to something that can alter plants and animals now, since it feels appropriately god-like. Should be fun to see what Papa Enter gets up to next!
Is Escape really back though? Like,
Our
Escape? Her personality is totally different now, like she's loyal to Enter instead of Messiah. Remember that Messiah assimilated Escape's data in to his Megazord form and the source of that data had been destroyed in Episode 30, hence the importance of the Avatars' origin. Enter has the Messiah Cards to revive him, but not Escape. Not
Our
Escape anyway.
On another note, I'll be rewatching along with Gobusters VS Gokaiger, as I have a lot of opinions on that movie. So look forward to that!

It annoyed me here, it annoyed me with Manmarva in Hurricaneger and it looks like it?s about to annoy me with MadRex Fury in Boonboomger.
Depends on the execution, I guess. Manmarva's return was definitely bad, as it threw away the conclusion of his rivalry with Kabutoraiger and made him a rampaging mindless monster to be destroyed. Ninja Storm made his final form a MOTW instead, which feels like an improvement. How humiliating. At least Madwrecks got his personality back eventually.
