Now, to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Kamen Rider Geats. The storytelling and character development is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of human nature and of pop culture most of the plot points will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Ace's divine outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Greek Mythology, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this storytelling, to realize that they're not just witty- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Kamen Rider Gears truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Ace's title "Star of the Star of the Stars," which itself is a reference to the constellations actually being demi-gods. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Yuya Takahashi's genius unfolds itself on their television screens.
