I mean yeah, not about you hating those kind of shows, but more about your preferences to these type of shows compared to the other shows.

Well yeah, though dunno if this'd be different, just that for other cases, something like someone humiliating others in fiction would be still them being a dick, and that someone doing terrorist attacks for 'good cause' would still be a bad guy in fiction too, even though they'd have entertainment value. I mainly said this due to Shunpei being meant to be a nice guy.

Oh, you did say this too, though not to me, in Die's Ryuki thread when I mentioned Shinji getting hated early on the watch. IDK how wrong my evaluations are about people's takes then for this (now I feel that Shinji's significantly more well-liked than back then), though yes, I indeed get into these analyses to learn the merits of something that seems bad or underwhelming. And yes, I've only seen the explanation of why Hiyori's great here. Also something in the Ryuki analysis link on my signature I only see there too for merit explanations.
I do wonder how those people'd react if they got to learn about for example, your Hiyori analysis on Die's Kabuto thread. Other than learning about these I want to spread more about these details to more people of the fanbase too, either coming from me or someone else (dunno if they'd mind though) so these aspects get more credit for their merits, but I don't really know the proper way to successfully do it (e.g. have it be noticed, not rub them the wrong way). I also may feel I'm not giving some other show a credit they deserve that I don't recognize the merits in, if I praise an aspect in a show.

It becomes less about assigning blame and more about empathy, with Haruto realizing that, since he became a wizard without ever wanting to be one, he might not have been considering how what he said earlier must come off to a person who always wanted to be a wizard but never could be.
Though Haruto didn't really get nasty in conveying the truth to Shunpei, other than the only one wizard is needed part, it'd be confusing yeah in how to convey the truth to Shunpei, with the lesson usually often be directed towards people like Shunpei that there are hard truths that one must accept, and that people should continue to be honest over keeping up someone's feelings, regardless of how others would take it.

As someone wiser, yeah it'd be expected that Haruto would prefer to move forward rather than angsting about past tragedies. Though I do often feel that angsting about past highlights one's empathy for others more that it seems to affect them more rather than being brushed off of them, but I know it's a bad habit (or it's just a more in-your-face approach of this). This is also often used in the more jerkish, morally challenged characters too, that people insist they just hide their sadness, being 'tsundere', and focus on what's important, to depict them as equally virtuous as main Rider types but less of a crybaby, so I wonder what'd be the difference of suppressing their emotions, or just plain not caring.

Well of course, here'd be what I expect more of Rinko's personality of being sweet, as someone who wants to help others should be. It seems that the Rider girls meant to be nice (so, not something like Misaki who also aggressively confronted Tendou) for some reason are made to be occassionally uncharacteristically mean, like at their early showings. And Rinko saving him is also actually brought up later in the story, with Rinko being the one to properly introduce herself to him. And the joke of Shunpei headbutting Haruto hits home cuz I've always thought about that when bowing to someone (and I did that too as a joke while bowing).

I'm going to try and bring it up every time this happens, specifically because I'm confident I won't be bringing it up much longer at all.
And unlike people such as Tendou, Haruto actually apologizes in doing that, so yes though he's calmer than the other main Riders, he's still a nice guy, rather than jerk with a heart of gold type that characters like secondary Riders are often one. This reminds me of Kuuga stuff too when Yuusuke stole a police's bike.

As a partly Komura show, it seems intentional that her full run later, Gavv, will have the opposite thing where the monsters achieve their goals by making people happy instead, rather than sending them into despair. The outcomes are both unpleasant for them obviously. It seems that what made Haruto understand Shunpei's dream better is the actual sadness and despair that are brought to him when he fails to do it, so that he knows it's seriously Shunpei's dream. So in general, sadness just adds up the seriousness in everything.

I rank Koyomi, Hiyori and Hirose as 4th, 5th and 6th of Heisei respectively.
Tsukuyomi is also the low standard for many, though not for the same reason as yours, but for similar reason as the likes of Hiyori to them that she's flat, wooden, seem useless/just there, etc. I wonder what'd be the problem for Asuna as I know those other 2 rubbed you the wrong way but Asuna doesn't seem to be that. By this, it sounds as if the low standards are the outliers, as you said the bar for heroine is low which sounds more as if it's the general, though I know you saying liking the Phase 1 and early Phase 2 heroines better. I wonder if you'd think people's complaint about female treatment using the support heroines from Phase 1 too as an example of how 'sexist' the series are (where they never get a spotlight, relegated to limited, less proactive role, only on sidelines, has no agency or just trophy, etc.) as dead wrong, and that female treatment (except for few) isn't really that big of an issue like they're making them up as.
