It sort of still does, though? Everything the Greeed are doing in this episode -- taking human forms, getting a hideout, lying to Uva -- is built on what happened at the end of 4. It's not an explicit cliffhanger resolution or anything, but it's entirely motivated from the previous Ankh/Kazari story.
