I thought about that scene before, but it's hard for me to take the side of her dad/boss here. (Jesus, there are probably rules about this, too!) For the episode's only real pre-Yummy pushback on her attitude, it just reads to me more as a woman whose professional career and ability to save lives is being stymied for no clear reason. I feel like her saying "my patients" shows more concern for them than her dad/boss clarifying that they're the hospital's patients, you know? She's the better surgeon, and more likely to save them, and her boss/dad is handing those patients -- that she's been working with, presumably -- over to completely different doctors.

And, like, I don't want to fight you on this, because I think what you're saying is what the episode thinks it's saying. I just don't think it's really in the text of the first part the way the second part assumes.
