He claims it's due to him sensing the emotions behind Rena, but a much easier angle, and the one I thought they were going for based on how the scene was shot, was Rena's' obvious lie about her ring. But no, that's never really brought up, weirdly enough.

It's ironic that Dimas is the one who understands common people the least, as well as not being the actual member of the Iskandar family, by blood or adopted (living with them since childhood). And here there's Rena fighting again, but as brainwashed one, but she can easily knock Randy off his feet by this.

Sure, they have flaws, but in the end, Ishibashi had to've done something right, because the emotional climax of it all really did work for me. From Rena's' nearly fatal injuries, to Randy rushing Lady Mossa, I was super into the soap opera aspect of it all(in Mossa's' own words). It helped that the musical score was really good too.

Ironic too that you're into the soap opera aspect in this, coming from a country which is infamous about how low-quality and cringe-inducing their soap opera products are. Though I guess implementing soap opera aspects in a non-soap opera based media here isn't a red flag as it can be done as a parodic way.
