Yeah, Kat's great, I actually prefer her to her Sentai counterpart. While Doggie is a wise mentor, he's still fallible and when he pulls rank to dismiss the valid concerns of his Rangers, it's good that Kat is around to be the firm voice of reason whenever he needs scolding.

I always saw him as a Black Ranger due to the dominant color of his suit and Morpher and since I really didn't know what to call that other color, but you're right that he stands out for his unconventional design, along with another Ranger appearing later in this show. It's a cool and intimidating suit for sure! While his Sentai counterpart isn't officially a Sixth, I think it's fair to count Shadow Ranger, since PR is more inclusive about such classifications and I recall Disney did plan for him as a Sixth before they found out about the other guy.
