I haven't re-watched Trigger in a while but I don't think he ever presented himself much as a threat initially, only a nuisance at worst. So there might not have been much impetus to do anything about him.

I guess colonizing Mars means Earth has already made deeper connections to aliens.

I think it probably depends on the season and the villain. I feel like Carmearra and Darrgon became really popular (and obviously the "MANAKA KENGO" memes).

I loved Ginga and Geed! I think some of the fights in Trigger were pretty good too.
