Yeah none of this makes any sense to me. If that's the reason why they are changing the name how is that going to permit marketing the show abroad (especially in North America)? While perhaps they can avoid Hasbro, there are still several issues to consider:
1. Hasbro could still file copyright infringement based on its similarity to Power Rangers.
2. How would this new incarnation of the show address its past? Will it have to focus solely on the Sentai seasons that were never incorporated into Power Rangers?
3. How would they differentiate between this new incarnation from the old one? Will we have to say goodbye to the mecha/robots?
4. How would this series even be marketed to audiences outside of Asia?
5. If the show does manifests and comes to the U.S. will Bandai be releasing the toys? How can they do so without stepping on the toes of Hasbro?
6. Could Toei avoid a copyright claim if they allow Hasbro to distribute the toys?
