I feel like at first Omega really had a strong sense of narrative style and purpose, but has lately just been doing random stuff. Feels like the show is having a mid-life crisis or something.

I feel like that's entirely why they had this episode feature so many references to other Ultra Alien races because they hadn't really done much with aliens up to this point. Plus the Attack Team gear actually helped out a little in this instance or why Ayu was aware of the problems or where they were.

I think the first half of the show was pretty much just stumbling into awakening Kaiju, so I don't think it's really changed that much.
