In all seriousness yeah it was... interesting starting Sailor Moon in '98 after having grown up on Power Rangers throughout the Zordon era because, even cultural differences and DiC's edits aside, she felt so much more like a "real" person than, say, Kimberly or Trini.

So he's not normally that big of a dick in other iterations, it's just that the show and manga were being written at exactly the same time so there's a lot that hadn't been fully figured out yet.

And also one of the directors personally hated Tux. It'll be more apparent later on.
