I wouldn't be surprised if CODE was involved in that too. Like, they potentially instilled in Baku a desire to help others and facilitated a situation where he would end up more motivated in a career where he can actually make a difference without hurting himself.

That plus some of the incidents of him getting hurt turned into an upgrade for himself, like the lightning, so that might be part of it too.
