The main point of SKC is to make the figures as suit accurate as possible. Whereas SHF tends to be more sculpted as if the suit itself is the character's' skin, SKC very much tries to look like "dude in costume" if that makes any sense.

Also, while not always true, SKC does tend to be alot better than standard SHFs, especially in regards to detailing.

That said, they have become very expensive over the years, so whether or not the added aesthetic and (sometimes) articulation is worth it is up to your own wallet.
