I'd also add a bit more more details. SKC while aiming for suit accurate as possible, their main gimmick of selling at such high price is typically the sculpting process. They basically sculpt on the foundation of a skeleton and then muscles and skins. You could say that SKC is made from skin and bone.
That being said, the recent releases such as Gavv and Bitter Gavv saw more prominent details of suit wrinkle sculpted throughout the body, which resemble a Toku suit, rather than a character in that fiction setting.

What you should get is very much depend on what you like. For example, the Ryuki stuff was previously released as SHF, quite aged, and they're doing them again in SKC Format, same to Faiz, Kabuto etc, and that seems to be the direction for older entries.
If there's a new release announced, you better prepare to get one on the release days, or within the order period. Most of the aftermarket price of SKC are usually with high marked up. Of course, not all SKC are highly desired, depend on regions and such. Gaim for example in my place is not very well received, another example is Gavv or Ohger. Ryuki's stuf is however, sold out instantly the very moment the listing went on pre-order.
If you're going to buy a release that's went past the release period. Depend on your wallet, and what kind condition you want, the costs are varied. It is also needed to note that if you're ever buying a second hand, do pay attention to the paint, as paint damage could occur if the previous owner accidentally or just carelessly collide two painted parts together.
