Godness Kumade earned his name in the end. For all his flaws, his many, many ridiculous flaws, his determination was no joke and I can see why Tega Sword chose him as Gozyu Wolf. He had that same unyielding heroic Red spirit as Bouken Red (who we'll be seeing soon) and Don Momotarou, plunging bravely in to the depths of hell for his ideals and the belief that the spirit of humanity will never lose to calamity. I totally respect the show's decision to make this Kumade's finale instead of giving him a predictable defeat at the hands of his successor. He lost the war, this time, but his final moment was a win protecting the world he made, just like he wanted.

Practically speaking, the only difference between Wolzard and Wolzard Fire is the color. In the Gozyuger universe, it does seem odd for somebody to become a Ranger without using a Ring. Even the Calamity-affiliated Infinity Ranger had to use a Ring.

Just like how it started, Hoeru is the lonely wolf, due to the world's eternal calamity leaving him without a pack. The pain and tragedy of wishing for a better future coming back to torment him one last time. I think I understand what the wolf will wish for, but I won't say too much at the risk of pre-empting the experience of seeing it in action. I'm excited for the finale of Gozyuger and Super Sentai as we know it!
