Alright, it's been a while. Was thinking of retooling the previously mentioned Shinkenger story to something more fitting for the series.

If I was going to go with something shorter or full-on romance, I'd probably want to bring in a plot with Mako that was something we saw very early on in the series. I remembered the episodes where Chiaki tried to cling onto his old life. It was quite sad, and who doesn't like a little bit of that?

General plot would be that Mako left her position at a daycare abruptly (that's what she was doing before the series, right?) and one day some old colleagues show up at the Shinkenger grounds to deliver her a proper goodbye party. It's a chance for the Shinkengers to all act like civilians once again, and reuniting with colleagues and old flames unravels some feelings the "cool, collected Lord" didn't know he had.

If I were to write a more general story like Festival of Fate, I figure it would be the Shinkengers going up against a team of Gedoshu samurai that have emerged from the Sanzu river; a group that parallels them as individuals and tests their worthiness as heroes. Would be pretty intense, but pretty long and a huge commitment...
