I watched Telegian, aka The Secret of Telegian, aka The Telegraph Man, from 1960. It's a sci-fi thriller by Ishirō Hondo about a teleporting criminal. A film of its time, with a few terrifying moments and a couple of silly ones. The most interesting thing about it is its veiled reflection on the consequences of defeat in the war for the Japanese. The film depicts a cabaret with waiters dressed in Japanese soldier uniforms and waitresses in flirty sailor suits. Meanwhile, the criminal avenges what happened at the end of the war and, in essence, continues to fight. Overall, I recommend it to fans of retro sci-fi, as well as Toho films of the period.
