Honestly I think Baku "woke" Sieg up, probably without the Punish Gore Nightmare attached to him.

As far as I'm aware Kohei Amano didn't get the flowers.

Also Fujimi being the most petty ex-cop to ever ex-cop was absolutely necessary to the plot.
