More mysteries answered with some new questions, with a glimpse of Jamato's origins being shown.
Didn't say this before, but actually though Geats makes good use of its characters and themes, I actually didn't think that the game rounds are that special or intriguing, but I'd say this episode's Labyrinth Escape is one of the more suspenseful game rounds they did so far, with the civilians (including Keiwa) being at greater stake, which extends to the players too that failing means elimination, and the Jamatos evolving to also become Kamen Riders, but also that the primary goal is to escape the Labyrinth by figuring out the password to unlock the door. The Jamatos and civilians are just there to make things harder instead of main objective, and seems that most Riders sort of have to work together this time, like Ace soloing the Jamatos while others keep the civilians as far as possible, regardless of which pair like Tanba taking all 3.
Ace seems contented that Neon was willing to trust his claims, though she'd just play along if he actually lies. I guess Ace's "lie" here would be quite harmless anyway to be wary of. Thus later Ace can open up as much as he can (to the audience too), like revealing that his wish to meet his mom as Neon asked got rejected by the system, and that Ace needs to meet his mom to describe her but views her as worth risking his life for. Later Ace got some help from Neon too by realizing that her dad can be a lead.
Otherwise I'd say Ace is just more open in general here? He straightforwardly says that he wants to know everything about DGP to his staff "family" (with his current wish revealed this early to become a staff himself), and he seems to display more reaction and concern regarding the danger everyone got involved here, frantically getting people away while holding off the hordes himself due to his skill, also borrowing Na-Go's Beat Buckle. I guess this episode also displays Geats being clear level ahead of Na-Go and Buffa still.
Previously Kousei seems to be the better parent of reminding Neon of her true wish, but here, it's quite clear. Including as a response to Irumi's overprotective shit, Kousei states the obvious that Neon is now an adult who can defend herself. But still, take that the other Kurama households! I wonder why Kousei can't be a place for Neon to confide in, or not opposing Irumi enough, would it be because Kousei is kind of a dad who is far too much away from home with all his work and/or secrets. Though now Irumi also would pester Kousei about the DGP of which outside people can't know.
And was actually kinda right that Keiwa using the money for himself doesn't mean he doesn't care anymore for others, like his concern for Tanba here, and him feeling compelled to protect the other civilians like the siblings that reminded his situation, though now he's more pessimistic and gives up easily without making effort, viewing the task of improving the world as too much to do by himself, focusing on quick get rich schemes, viewing Tanba's actions as reckless, and wallowing on his poor luck. Of which wasn't go unnoticed as Neon notes that Keiwa is OOC by this compared to the spirited and determined one she knew, of which ironic that Neon wasn't acting on character either before, until Ace reveals that the restored DGP player also loses their drive on their original desire, changing their personality, which Neon finally realizes about herself forgetting Neon TV and her escape attempts. There are less interaction and reaction between those 2 against the civilian Keiwa though than I'd expect, at least for now other than noticing Keiwa's there.
Tanba's personality seems to be shown more here and so far he seems to be a decent person playing in DGP, he feels compelled to protect Keiwa, or the other civilians thrown to him, and feels disappointed for his incapability to do so due to his age later. His interest in the youths and their energy is also strong enough for him to not let them die, jumping into battle that got him currently critically injured for it. I'm looking forward to see Tanba's reaction when the civilian he's paired with was actually previous DGP contestant, and some reversal scenario where Tanba's the one who got protected and likely the one learning more DGP from the supposed civilian, so I'd hope for Tanba to last long enough for that.
Otherwise, Neon is quite attentive to the civilian she's paired with, Michinaga is protective but also rough and has no time to put up with BS (I wonder if Ogata Jiro's introduction was only trying to meet his idol here... or actually futilely trying to get himself paired with her), and Win's rocker personality... is also a facade to fool others into thinking he's different Punk Jack. There seems to be a set up for Michinaga's new arc, over him hating and besting Ace, in him catching up DGP's scheme to eliminate Ace, of which it collides with his sense of fair play, probably feeling that only players have a right to beat him, instead of sabotaging him.
Regarding the schemes made by the DGP staff, it seems that Tsumuri isn't pleased with some of their decisions and would have a chance to potentially defect from them when she can't take it anymore. She's annoyed with Ace but she still holds into DGP's principles that they should be neutral thus she disagrees with them deliberately trying to eliminate Ace. Which can mean she's less suspicious than other DGP staff members, where Win acts calmer there (dunno if Tsumuri knows about this regarding Win's "proposal") but his real personality seems to be having blind loyalty to Giroli to claim that his orders are absolute.
Giroli now agrees with Tsumuri on Ace's actions being questionable to them, and his current reason to eliminate him is because he won too much, or probably because he's getting closer and closer to DGP with his current wish. He's more suspicious too with his attempted call to Archimedel, the supposed Jamato creator who so far displayed typical mad scientist characters to prove his creations superior without regard on humanity, of which the scene was revealed in a creepy way with his tone of speaking and the baby Jamatos, though it also has Gaim's Helheim vibes. Otherwise, there's also something going on with Rider's shattered ID cores which Archimedel uses. Apparently Giroli too, wasn't pleased with Archimedel too with the evolutions and his call being unanswered, as well as seemingly wishing the Riders well, which further can make Archimedel the most monstrous individual so far.
Now the mid-season upgrade has arrived for Geats in the Fever Slot Buckle, one of the items Giroli ordered. It seems to be something like Boost but taken further, it upgrades the existing form into Fever Buckle form, but has no battle function so far, purely stat increase unlike Boost's propellers, dependent on the luck as it's a slot machine system, which is used for Ace to prove finding luck for Tanba and Keiwa. About his battle, the bike CGI was actually quite bad, though the scene of him smacking the enemies with said bike is dope and also gives some vibes to video games like Dante's DMC5 or Yakuza 0's Beast Style stuff. Also honestly, dunno what they're thinking (unless it's deliberate) to drop the lootboxes on the outside when everyone was inside the building.
