In the scene @ 00:19, Lango Mango resumes Bocca's mass human manipulation grand plan and orders the Dummy RG's to release Stomach's gaseous copy of Lage 9's awfully plot-convenient hApPiNeSs neurotoxin in public places and mind-control the manipulated humans. What I find funny is the scene @ 00:43 when people inside cars are also exposed to the gas emitted by the Dummy RG's. Similar scene also happened in episode 47 @ 14:59. Don't most (if not all) modern cars have multiple layers of HEPA air intake filter that can prevent harmful microbes and pollutant materials from entering the cabin of the cars?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gavv 49 @ 00:43 ![]() Gavv 47 @ 14:59 ![]() In the scene @ 01:02, Shouma asks Lango Mango whether he tricked him iunto joining forces. Lango Mango says that he didn't trick Shouma, and he only joined forces because they both had mutual benefit, so it's just natural to move to the next phase. Lango Mango clearly lies here, because he said in the flashback scene in episode 48 @ 10:57 he did agree with Shouma's condition for the deal that he must withdraw Stomach corporation's entire Dark Snack operation from the human world. I'm not blaming Lango Mango for lying and not keeping his promise here, because I already knew that he'd betray Shouma since I already elaborated my hypothesis about his betrayal near the end portion of my post in episode 36(!) thread here when I hypothesized that he would return to the story as a post-final villain who take revenge on the final villain (Bocca the stupidest politician villain). The only ones to blame here are the "Revenge Trio" Riders (Shouma, Hanto, and Lage 9) for being such colossal idiots who couldn't see the obvious possibility. Like I said last week in my post in episode 48 thread here: Betrayal is only painful if you haven't really prepared for it. What an idiot plot! In the scene @ 03:25, the neighborhood looks like an abandoned post-apocalyptic cities, and the government still hasn't done anything about it, even after the entire people from the Chizuru district have gone missing like Sachika says to Shouma @ 03:47 based on a news article. Yep, stooooooooooooooooooooopid to the max, haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gavv 49 @ 04:03 ![]() In the scene @ 04:35, Sachika the heroine-with-virtually-no-backstory-except-2-mundane-facts-that-she-has-a-filthy-rich-grandma-and-that-she-lives-in-the-same-apartment-complex-as-Ritsu is preparing snacks for Shouma while Masaru is still there. Masaru asks her why she'd prepare snacks at a time like this, and she says that it's because eating snacks makes Shouma feel better. Sachika decides to make several more snacks since she's short on some, and Masaru helps her because he remembers his younger sister (Michiru aka Shouma's mom) saying that snacks provide energy. In the scene @ 05:19, the "Revenge Trio" Riders decide to go to Kenzou's crummy office/lab that has been taken over by Lage 9 as his favorite squatting place, haha. ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 05:51, Liselle the spoiled rich brat is shocked when she sees it's Lango Mango the stupidest CEO villain that returns alive, not Bocca Bocca the stupidest politician villain. He mocked her and call her a little girl who has no backing anymore, and he naturally slaps her in the face and reclaim the CEO position of the Stomach corporation. Strangely, Jeebh actually cares about her who has been just b-slapped by Lango Mango, haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lango Mango says @ 06:59 that if things keep going at this rate, then he'll manage to increase the Dark Snack production and steal the next election at once. Well, Lango Mango, isn't there still an opposition party like mentioned by Magen in episode 30 @ 05:19? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 07:26, Hanto is frustrated and doing the uber-cliche shoving-a-bunch-of-objects act, haha. ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 08:33, Liselle is looking for Bocca in the presidential palace and is saddened to find that he's not there. Jeebh is seemingly sympathizing with her, which means that he'd likely join forces with her in the next episode aka final episode. In the scene @ 09:12, the "Revenge Trio" Riders is following the guidance of the spy Poppin Gummy RG in the previous scene to the location of the door that's used by one of Lango Mango's agents to transport the Hito Pressed humans. Yep, like I've asked since my post in episode 20 thread here, Stomach corporation, be it under Lango Mango or Bocca, is still the stupidest illegal drug company because they're still using such public places as a portal to the so-called Door Room, and they're also still using the big, conspicuous, and gaudy agents to freely roam the human world to collect the Hito Pressed humans. Soooooooooo conveniently stupid. Gosh, Stomach corporation is definitely the stupidest yet the most brazen drug trafficker in the entire multiverse, haha. ![]() In the scene @ 11:15, the spy Poppin Gummy RG in the previous scene is following one of Lango Mango's agents who is transporting a case of the Hito Pressed humans to a collection center. The agent says that it's shipping time, and of cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooourse, the RG finds out about it because the RG's are the writers' favorite tools of information manipulation, haha. ![]() In the scene @ 11:33, Sachika and Masaru have finished making several types of snacks for Shouma. Shouma arrives and he asks Sachika to make cotton candy. He shows his book where he wrote that marshmallow is a fluffy candy that looks like clouds. He wondered there what kind of rain cotton candy would bring if it were clouds in the sky. He thinks that the rain from cotton candy clouds can turn the manipulated humans back to normal. Masaru asks Shouma what kind of help cotton candy can bring to the table. He straightforwardly asks whether Shouma and the others are hiding something. He suspects that the "Revenge Trio" are Kamen Raidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. When Shouma is about to answer him, the spy Poppin Gummy RG in the previous scene arrives (and scares Masaru) and informs Shouma that Lango Mango (via his agent) is ordering the manipulated humans to gather at the collection facility to be Hito Pressed by Stomach's employees. At that moment, Shouma admits that the "Revenge Trio" are indeed Kamen Raidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, tells Masaru a bit of sob story when he says that their families were victims of Granutes. Sachika also admits that she was the one who wrote the article about Granute activities that Masaru read in episode 42 @ 21:12. In the scene @ 15:00, the workers at Stomach's Dark Snack factory are ambushed by Hanto/KR Valen and Lage 9/KR Vram. This is one of the very very very rare times when Stomach's Dark Snack factory is actually operational, unlike the dumb scene in episode 20 where the factory was totally silent with no worker/employee/supervisor in sight at all like I elaborated in my post here here. Oh, and Hanto and Lage 9 entered the so-called Door Room @ 10:33 when Shouma activated the door it's linked to, but isn't the so-called Door Room contains a gazillion of random, non-descript doors? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 15:32, Sachika and Masaru have finished making cotton candy for Shouma who eat it and immediately produce the new Mofupachi RG, and Masaru is looking at it curiously. In the scene @ 15:59, his agent informs Lango Mango that Hanto/KR Valen and Lage 9/KR Vram are at the Dark Snack factory. And Lango Mango thinks that it was Nyelv who opened the door for Shouma/Aka Gabu? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 16:20, Shouma, Sachika, and Masaru are seeing that many manipulated humans are heading toward Stomach's collection facility to be Hito Pressed by Stomach's employees. Shouma transforms into KR Gavv Fuwamallow form, and uses the new Mofupachi RG to create rain clouds that spread Dente-made neutralizer/antidote that turn the manipulated humans back to normal and disable the Dummy RG's. Has the Mofupachi RG appeared before? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gavv 34 @ 06:39 ![]() Gavv 34 @ 10:00 ![]() In the scene @ 18:31, Hanto/KR Valen and Lage 9/KR Vram are wrecking Stomach's Dark Snack factory and retrieve a box full of Hito Pressed humans. Yep, Lango Mango is the stupidest CEO villain, and that will never ever change, even after his 1st defeat at the end of episode 36. Instead of dealing the immediate threat that is Hanto/KR Valen and Lage 9/KR Vram who are infiltrating Stomach's Dark Snack factory, he decided to deal with Shouma/Aka Gabu. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hilariously stupid! In the scene @ 21:16, Hanto is transporting the box full of Hito Pressed humans via the so-called Door Room, and Jeebh has been waiting for him there, and they fight, haha. ![]() In the scene @ 21:56, Shouma/KR Gavv Fuwamallow form has just finished turning the manipulated humans back to normal and disabling the Dummy RG's by using the very very very plot-convenient Mofupachi RG. Just when he's about to join Hanto/KR Valen and Lage 9/KR Vram, Lango Mango arrives at the scene to defeat him. Lango Mango asks how the heck Shouma is able to turn the manipulated humans back to normal. As usual, Shouma's answer is: He did it by using his favorite power of human snacks that makes people hApPy. Gosh, there's that cringe-inducing word again: hApPY. At this point, the words hApPy and hApPiNeSs have been repeated ad nauseam that they've become sooooooooooooooo stale and devalued. Ngl, hearing those 2 banal, shallow, naive words made me feel nauseous, haha. ![]() Next week: The final episode of this atrocious story. The final fight between Shouma/KR Gavv vs Lango Mango the stupidest CEO villain. Oh, and the producers and writers have just realized that KR Gavv Blizzardsorbet form exists, haha. ![]() Shouma says that there's hApPiNeSs that he wants to obtain. Dang, here's another instance of that cringe-inducing word again: hApPiNeSs. Maaannn, this atrocious story really really reeeeeally needs to tone down their hApPy hApPy hApPy hApPiNeSs nonsense. The way they've been doing it is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo repetitive and on the nose. Like I said last week, it feels like they're trying waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard to Jedi mind trick me into being hApPy hApPy hApPy, haha. ![]() Hanto/KR Valen is fighting against Jeebh/KR Bitter Gavv v3.0 and Liselle who is debuting her full Granute form. Yep, Jeebh ends up joining forces with Liselle. Mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyybbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeee... |

The penultimate episode.
So the stakes for fighting Lango is about him controlling his victims, thus fighting him head on will have the victims getting processed. I guess for this one, working together with a villain isn't a good idea, as Bocca's plan that Lango takes over involve mass collateral damage, despite Lango not being stronger than the final form. Still if Shoma is losing in the next episode preview, I wonder what'd cause Lango to be able to almost defeat Shoma, as he previously completely lost to the final form. Masaru figures it out that Shoma, Hanto, and Rakia are Riders, due to how they're safe despite the dangers they're in. Shoma confirms it, but not for bringing up about their familial relation and Michiru. Probably Shoma keeps it secret due to how him being a Rider is related to Masaru's death, but I guess he doesn't need to talk about how they ended up becoming Riders about losing a loved one to the Stomachs. By this Masaru contributes by being more knowledgable to make snacks than Sachika. Dealing with civilians don't require strongest form, so one of Gavv's earlier base forms Fuwamallow returns, to free the brainwashing of the civilians by raining antidotes. A good excuse to bring back weaker forms that'd be irrelevant for fighting the endgame threats. I wonder though if Gochizos can be used by at least Valen, where it's more appropriate for Shoma to confront the strongest threats (Lango and his Agents) while Hanto and Rakia deal with civilians on Earth. I don't know what's the deal with Jeebh now that he seems to realize his mistakes in getting revenge to Shoma and also the other Stomach siblings, thus he doesn't oppose Lango anymore, but he still fiercely attacks those who disturb the Stomach's operations like Hanto. Maybe now Jeebh just wants to live with Lizel, of which Lango allows him to keep her. Lizel genuinely loves her father to mourn over his loss, dunno how'd she fare for only one episode remaining. Now the Agents actually operate in mook-like way to have loads of them attack a Rider. Rakia seems to go on sacrificial path to hold off the Agents so Hanto can save the Hitopresses. By this it may seem that, like Dente, people can paint Rakia as a saint for this sacrifice and justify his crimes by blaming the Stomachs only to put him on pedestal. Vram A La Mode doesn't seem to be able to properly take down Lango's Agents even individually, unlike Over/Master Gavv to Bocca's Agents.

Well, I must admit that my prediction turned out to be wrong, because this episode works as a prologue to the finale. It should be noted that the local apocalypse with smiling crowds going to the slaughter, even if it does not look as impressive as in previous shows, still looks frightening. And the method of salvation, although it seems far-fetched, is smart and unusual in its own way.
It must be admitted, however, that given its important role, cotton gochizo deserves its own form. This episode also confirmed that Gochizo's form and abilities largely depend on Shouma's imagination, and not on the snacks themselves. So yes, under different circumstances, this could have been a show based on any other food. Or even rocks. It's also worth noting that Shouma told Masaru that he was a rider and had lost a close family member. At the same time, he kept silent about more personal and impressive information. Which is even justified, because in order to create Gochizo and save humanity, Shouma must be in an optimistic mood, which family dramas do not contribute to. The farewell of the three riders, where they recognize each other’s merits, also turned out to be forgivable, but sincere. Valen and Vram go to the factory to save the pressed victims. And Lakia has to stay behind to fight the army of Agents. In tokusatsu, foot soldiers usually play the role of extras for beating, so it is difficult to see them as a threat to the transformed hero. But don’t forget that thousands of ants defeat an elephant and in the end the number still decides. Plus, the Agents were initially positioned as serious opponents. So Vram will have a very difficult time. Although perhaps invisible jelly will help him? Hanto escapes with Hito-Press because he is weaker. This seems logical, but ironically leads him to a one-on-one confrontation with Jeebh. Hanto tries to remind the surviving twin about revenge for Sheeta, but he is clearly in no mood to listen. As in the case of Lakia, the situation is dangerous, but not hopeless. As for Shouma, he will face off against Lango. Senior Stomatch has regained control of the company and is aiming for the presidency, and for this he needs Dark Treats. So a new confrontation with the Bili riders is inevitable, but, as Hanto noted, he could, for the sake of decency, observe a formal truce until the supplies that Nyelv was counting on ran out. It should also be noted that it is Lango, and not Nyelv, who is the logical thinker in the family. He even justifies his hatred of Shouma. This makes him (and Bocca) a more real villain, but also boring and passive. The expected turnaround in the relationship between Jeebh and Liesel happened, but only partially. Because if Liesel truly fell into despair after the death of her father, then Jeebh is clearly not ready to take her role. He is not even able to realize that, having become a rider, he can most likely compete with Lango. Actually, I think Jeebh is a criticism of characters like Jin from Zero One and Kengo from Kiva. Many viewers expected something spectacular from him, but in the end, some people simply do not change. And all Jeebh can do is be someone's lackey or appendage. It is quite possible that even in relations with Sheeta, that very unity of the twins was established only because he adjusted to his sister, and she did not abuse her brother’s weak character. Unlike everyone else. Well, I'm looking forward to the ending and getting down to the big review of the show. Gavv undoubtedly deserves praise, as well as some valid criticism. In any case, it was delicious! P.S. Nyelv also made his contribution by returning Shouma access to interdimensional doors. Apparently, he did have a plan B. Of course, he calculated that the riders would use this against Bocca, but here Lango miscalculated, not showing himself to his smart brother. |

Looks like after six years, we finally have our first kaijin final boss since Zi-O's Another Decade, which is also a first for the Reiwa era.
Speaking of which, it appears that Lango has grown a set of wings and is now able to overpower Over/Master form. |

Just wanted to say that the final words exchanged between the three Riders were the highlight for me.
Because the villains have all been kinda lame. No single villain has had the presence and theatricality to be a true Rider villain. Except for Glotta, who was woefully underutilized as a villainess. Lango is too aloof, Nyelv was too shifty, Jeebh and Shita could have been great but they kinda turned out to be generic villains, Lizel was too unlikable while Bocca came too late. For me, the gold standard for Rider villain is Kumon Kaito from Kamen Rider Gaim. Kaito was the secondary Rider but had the completely opposite philosophy to be anything except an enemy at the end. He was strong and his final plan had actual stakes. He also had sheer presence and charisma. The finale of Gaim was excellent. No other Rider show had managed to pull it off a second time, in my opinion.

The Stomach Family, Suga, Bocca - it may not be perfect, but much like Gavv as a whole it easily outshines everything Reiwa had to offer so far for me. Especially Jeebh and Shita were very well written, and the other villains all bring something interesting to the table too. |

No other Rider show had managed to pull it off a second time, in my opinion. Getting back to Gavv, yes, the local villains are average at best. Their main problem is passivity and lack of charisma. One gets the impression that they really don?t want to fight with the riders, and the family connection that was supposed to aggravate and diversify the conflict only forces them to stay away from Shouma. In fact, the villain you didn't mention is largely to blame for this: Suga. He took up a decent portion of the show during which none of the Stomatch siblings showed much of themselves. And then it was already too late. And if I can forgive the stupidity and contradictions of someone like Solomon or Glion for their vileness and madness, then the local villains in the end turned out to be lackluster, albeit with some interesting moments. Either way, this show clearly loves its heroes more. |
