SPD Red Key Spring Problem (Only with mine)

The spring on my SPD Red Key is ridiculously sensitive and the won't stay clipped on to the key portion. Seems that whenever I try pulling the legs down the keep flipping back up into key form. Anyone have an idea of how I could fix this?
