MMPR S1 is trash. It's just plain garbage.
RPM is the best season since SPD. The best season overall, IMO, is In Space. Period.

I wasn't really watching PR or Sentai in general when RPM came out. So I'd have to go back and see it to make a decision. I do agree with Matrix though. In Space is the best season period.

RPM is overrated by a large margin. Talk about "trying too hard," yeesh.
In Space is a good season. Best season ever? That might be arguable but it has to be in the conversation for sure.

I agree that RPM is better than MMPR s1. Though RPM's ending could of been a bit better.

MMPR is like the day you lose your virginity. It's special because it was the first time. But it's not the best!

A couple of people here have mentioned In Space, and I think it is a worthy contender. The only three contenders I'd consider for best of Power Rangers are In Space, Time Force, and RPM.
In Space was really cool, with the greatest sense of adventure. It really was Power Rangers Star Trek, something which was expanded in Lost Galaxy. It also has arguably the best moments in Power Rangers history, with a lot of memorable scenes, villains and episodes. Now, if there's one big beef I have with In Space, it's that it was not very consistent. It has some of the greatest episodes in PR history, surely, but it also spawned some real stinkers, like the Ninja Turtles crossover. A lot of episodes in the middle felt like fillers. Also, while they did some awesome things in the visuals, some of the special effects looked as if the producers couldn't be bothered with cleaning up the Megaranger footage. If there's one thing RPM has over my other two favorites, it's consistency. I don't think there's a single, truly awful episode in RPM, and if you ask most people, they'll point to the behind-the-scenes episode, which was enjoyable enough for me. Sure there were some below-par episodes, but none that made me want to disown them. So which is the best? I don't know, but I know if I had to recommend a starter Power Rangers season, it would certainly be RPM.

I haven't seen RPM, but honestly, the only reason I like MMPR is for nostalgia. I have the first DVD volume, bought it the week it came out, and I only made it through the first 16 episodes. I was going to buy the full series collection, but I think I might be better just watching it on Netflix instead of collecting it now just to sell it off in a few years when I realize it was a waste of money to buy it.
Anyway, my favorite PR seasons are Zeo and In Space. |
