Custom Megaforce Sword

I'm wanting to make a custom Dragon Sword like Troy usese in Megaforce, I know I need a toy sword which I can get at Party City I just don't know what I need to make the shield in the front, what I need is something rectangular with a handle, I've seen some some like that in store but not big enough. Any ideas?

All i can think of are those wooden swords.
