Okay the movie's been subbed for a little while now so I think it's a good time to open up discussion on this. While how successful it was at doing so is up in the air, the new Gavan movie (plus Type-G's appearance in Go-Busters and Super Hero Taisen Z) seems to suggest that Toei may be looking for Metal Heroes to make a proper comeback at some point. If they did, what would you like to see?

While a new B-Fighters series is a personal dream, I think to begin with it might just be better to stick to the Space Sheriffs for now. While Gavan Type-G got a decent introduction from the movie, Shaider and Sharivan were pretty much limited to cameo roles. So if we got a new series I'd like to see it focus on all three Sheriffs at the same time, with one-shot/multi-episode arcs featuring just one of them, which often intertwine and cross over into a larger plot. Cameo appearances from other Metal Heroes ala Gokaiger would be great too. Finally, this seems a very unlikely want but I'd love to see it not have to revolve around a toyline. While the film wasn't overly serious I did feel it had a more Garo-like edge to it simply because it wasn't pushing anything. The designs aren't particularly modern, so I don't think the show needs to be aimed at young children. Your thoughts?

There's been talk around the Forums about Toei, possibly, taking a few years off Sentai with their sluggish ratings. I wouldn't mind them taking up a Metal Heroes series again instead. You could even reboot the entire franchise. A new Gavan, or use that new Gavan from the movies they made. Bring back the B-Heroes. You can create an entire new universe with this.

Then, after a few years, bring Sentai back. |

I'm not keen on the idea of replacing Super Sentai with it, simply because then it just becomes a toy sale show.

I'd like to see a Space Sheriff show if we get a new Metal Hero program.

I would want it to be sort of in the vein of Metalder, where there was not really a Monster Of The Week for the Sheriff to fight, but a more flowing narrative with different elements carrying over. I'd also like to see (near) equal time given to the forces of law & order and the criminal enterprise they are fighting. Speifically, let's not have the Space Mafia or whomever simply be out to take over Earth -- let's see actual criminal enterprise in the form of robbery, extortion, blackmail, kidnapping and ransom, gun running, and so forth. That would add a procedural element which would help differeniate the show from the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. As far as Gavan, Shaider, and Sharivan, I'd like them to play recurring roles on the show. Maybe not regulars, but have arcs where they are part of the investigation and thus are featured along with Type-G or whomever the main hero is.

I'd absolutely love another show like Metalder and it's enemy armies. I still think that show had one of the best group of antagonists in all of tokusatsu.

I don't want to see another Space Sheriff, though. I found all of those shows to be pretty boring outside of the frequent balls crazy moments from Shaider. |

I don't really know what I want out of a new Metal Heroes show. I really have no interest in Gavan, though. Yeah, it was neat seeing him in the Gokaiger movie, but that only really stemmed from me knowing the actor from another series.

Personally, I'd much see another B-Fighter series. Being a Toei show, it's going to be toy driven, but they've proven that toy driven series can still be good.

It's kind of tricky with Metal Heroes given that they do not have a fixed formula like sentai and rider shows, but I would like to see them start off with a Space Sheriff show if they ever do.
