Kyoryuger hit its 25th episode this week, which means its pretty much halfway through. This also means that despite how ridiculously early it seems, the first lot of rumours for the next Sentai show are here!

Here's the rumors:

-Going off of well reception in toy sales, next year's series will apparently be along the lines of "animal faced" vehicles, Go-onger style. Likely, the flavor of the designs will be different, but the idea will be the same. (This makes sense, if true, as Bandai wouldn't want to take a step back in toy sales from Kyoryuger. You have to follow up dinosaurs with something that is known to work. Ninjas, Samurai and pirates are out, for obvious reasons.)

Do keep in mind, animal-faced vehicles has a wide range. Go-Busters, Goseiger, Liveman, and Jetman all fall into that category, after all.

-In a surprising move, a lion will not be counted among the mecha. (Lions having become a staple of animal themed shows.) That is not to say, however, that a lion mecha won't show up somewhere down the line.

-The color yellow will return to the ranger color wheel next year, as a female

Bear in mind that these are only RUMOURS and anything could change between now and January when we actually find out whatever the next show is going to be. I'm only posting them because Dukemon22 is a pretty good source on the rumour front, and it would be interesting to see how far off the mark we end up in a few months time.

After all, we may get another "time travelling dinosaur trains" scenario on our hands

That doesn't give us much to work on. I'm hoping we don't get more animal vehicles. Those have always been weird to me.

Off of that, it sounds empty as far as info goes. As far as the theme goes, meh. Not what I would like to see, but who knows maybe I'll like it.

I like the idea. Animal-faced vehicles are a safe bet and have more hits than misses. Go-onger was a great toyline so i'm hopeful.

Considering I love Go-ongers mecha, and you cant go wrong with anime-eyed vehicles. But hell we are still months away from the new series, so Ill stay iffy for now

That's how info for a new Sentai series usually goes early on. We get much more info once we get closer to the end of the current series.

I was really hoping we''d get away from animal vehicle hybrids finally As much as I've loved the shows that have used that motif in recent years, I was really hoping for a return to just straight up vehicles ala Boukenger.

Well, Kyoryuger turned from Dinosaur Trains to Batteries.
Maybe this upcoming series will go from animal/vehicle hybrids into...Something else.
