Playing up my OCD love for lists for the third year in a row.

Like before, this thread is for everyone to look back at the shows and movies of 2013 and discuss what stood out as being the most impressive for you.

A couple quick notes:

Personally, for 2013 series I'm counting anything that aired a new episode this year: Gobusters, Kyoryuger. Akibaranger 2, Wizard, Gaim, Garo: The One Who Shines in the Darkness, Ultraman Ginga, Power Rangers Megaforce, Shougeki Gouraigan, and anything else that I don't remember or know about.

For movies I'm counting anything that came out this year (the new Garo movies, Superhero Taisen Z, Kyoryuger the Musical, etc.) as well as anything that came out last year but wasn't available as a dvd/fansub until this year (Movie Wars Ultimatum, the Fourze movie, etc.). If you want to include stuff like the new Movie Wars or the Wizard move that hasn't been available for viewing outside of Japan yet, go ahead.

Best New Show of 2013: Shougeki Gouraigan kinda burned out with me, so I'mma have to go with Kamen Rider Gaim.

Best New-to-You Show of 2013: Ultraman Max

Best Rewatch of 2013: Technically haven't finished it yet, but still Kuuga

Best Movie of 2013: Garo: Blue Cry of the Demon Dragon

Best Male Lead Character: I've gone on record with it before and I'll say it again: Haruto Soma is one of my favorite main Riders ever.

Best Female Lead Character: Jabi, who finally got to headline her own movie this year in the Tougen Flute.

Best Male Supporting Character: I may have dropped the show, but I still have to give the nod to Nossan from Kyoryuger (you could probably argue that a main member of a Sentai team is a leading character by definition, but it's "Daigo Sentai Kyoryuger: Starring Daigo;" every other character is supporting by default).

Best Female Supporting Character: Mayu from Wizard. A female Rider? On the show? Who doesn't die?

Best Actor: Shunya Shiraisi, who gave a really subtle and understated (and under-appreciated) performance as Haruto.

Best Actress: Hiroko Sato in a very complex role on Garo TOWSITD

Biggest Toku Crush of 2013: A very, very close toss-up between Miki Nanri and Yuko Takayama.

Best Villain: Enter. Oh holy crap, Enter.

Best Returning Character: I'm going to cheat and say the entire cast of Hurricanger. I haven't even seen the movie, but the idea behind it and the prescendent it establishes are both fantastic.

Best Suit Actor: Seiji Taikawa (cop-out? probably, but he deserves it)

Best Writer: Gen Urobuchi

Best Director: Keita Amemiya

Best Producer: Naomi Takebe, for guiding Kamen Rider back to a more early Heisei vibe with Gaim

Best Visual Designer: Also Keita Amemiya - really, any year he does something this should be a given.

Best Hero Suit Design: Gou from Shougeki Gouraigan

Best Monster Suit Design: Enter's Dark Buster costume from Go-Busters (honestly, I think this is a really weak category this year, as none of the shows had really impressive monster designs).

Best Weapon: I really love Gai's bow from Garo TOWSITD

Best Vehicle/Mecha: The Watermelon Arms from Gaim is really cool (when it's not rolling around as a giant ball).

Best Fight Scene: The massive brawl in TOWSITD episode 18, even if it was mostly CGI.

Best Dramatic Scene: The short vision of what life could have been if Enhou had lived; Garo TOWSITD

Best Comedic Scene: The Akibarangers recreate Dairanger's opening theme.

Best Song: So Long, the first ending theme for TOWSITD

Best Piece of Merchandise: I kinda didn't get any toku merch this year. Blame Bandai for making all the SIC KTs exclusives.

Biggest Surprise: New Garo series for 2014! And Zero miniseries! And a new movie! And an anime! In general, the transformation of Garo from cool show from 2005 to massive ongoing franchise.

Single Worst Thing in 2013 Tokusatsu: I was tempted to give this to Kyoryuger's unending cacophony of noise, but there really is only one right answer to this. Shunpei. Because Shunpei. Just Shunpei.

Okay, let's get this list started. It's prone to change, mind you, but I'll do to the best of my ability.
Best New Show of 2013: Kamen Rider Gaim. I haven't posted in the threads at all, but I love it. After the painfully dull Wizard, this series has reinvigorated my interest in KR.
Not much, though, since I'm still playing catch up, but it's still fun!

Best New-to-You Show of 2013: Hmm...I think it'll have to be Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Not many options here for me

Best Rewatch of 2013: Geki Geki Geki Geki Geki!

Best Movie of 2013:...Taisen Z.

Best Male Lead Character: Nitou! Kamen Rider Beast!

Best Female Lead Character: Amy, why not.

Best Male Supporting Character: Blue Mage, a boy and his bike, Yuzuru

Best Female Supporting Character: Yellow Mage, Mayu.

Best Actor: Riki Miura (Sharivan in SHT: Z)

Best Actress: Ayumi Kinoshita (Yuko, Nossan's sister in Kyoryuger)

Biggest Toku Crush of 2013:...None of them, really *Shrugs*

Best Villain: Hmm...Phoenix. Maybe White Wizard.

Best Returning Character: Hino Eiji!

Unfortunately, my knowledge of toku directors and producers is painfully scarce, so I can't name a favorite...

Best Hero Suit Design: Blue Beet (Thank you, Metal Hero Keys)

Best Monster Suit Design: Phoenix. Did nothing. Looked amazing.

Best Weapon: Feather Edge, Torin's sword.

Best Vehicle/Mecha: It did nothing past episode 8, but the WizarDragon was pretty cool.

Best Fight Scene: Scorpion vs. the White Ranger

Best Dramatic Scene: Strangely enough, the scene where Haruto contemplated letting someone fall to despair to save Koyumi, and Shunpei made the save.

Best Comedic Scene: The Kyoryuger monster who changed fights into movie sequences. Pahfeckt.

Best Song: *Shrugs* Bragigas's theme.

Best Piece of Merchandise: PteraraidenOh minipla

Biggest Surprise: Decade showing up and not making everything worse.

Single Worst Thing in 2013 Tokusatsu: Decade still not being put to rest as a character.
