Lachesis is worried that if Spanner is actually serious about his plan to eradicate Chemies, then the Riders will have no way of opposing the Unholy Trinity. Spanner then says something inaudible to Lachesis, which I think could be his willingness to use his black flame powers, and perhaps even to join Gigist. Or perhaps it's what Lachesis says @ 05:42 that Spanner is planning to absorb all Chemies and perform a 101x transmutation compared to the usual 2x or 3x ones by using his black flame power to defeat the Unholy Trinity by himself.
Another group of gangster is looking for Houtarou and Rinne @ 04:20. Atropos informs Glion that Spanner is planning to sacrifice himself to defeat Glion and the other members of Unholy Trinity. How does Atropos know about Spanner's plan? Did someone from Houtarou's side, very likely Lachesis, leak the info to Atropos? Atropos is then attempting to sabotage Spanner and his followers' plan, but she's kidnapped by Clotho as ordered by Gaelya. After he's defeated in his fight against Houtarou, Spanner says @ 19:06 that he's still going the separate way. His Driver is seemingly damaged beyond repair. I think that he'll be able to use his black flame power to repair it in episode 48 or 49, and then transforms into a new form (berserker form? kaijin form?) of KR Valvarad that purely uses his black flame power and requires no RCC's. Atropos is restrained and is about to be experimented on in a ritual by Gaelya @ 21:17. Clotho who kidnapped Atropos earlier objects to Gaelya's plan but is dismissed by Gaelya. Gaelya reveals that Atropos is a homunculus based on Rinne, and she's planning to transfer all of Rinne's life force to Atropos through the mark she planted on Rinne's left hand in episode 46. If the ritual succeeds, then the human model (Rinne) will die and Atropos will become the ultimate artificial lifeform. Gaelya is planning to make Atropos her ultimate lackey. After creating chaos among humanity, why is Gaelya suddenly changing her plan to creating the ultimate artificial lifeform? I don't get her reasoning. Next week: Glion is scrambling to save Atropos from Gaelya's ritual and storms Fuga's place to beg for his help. Yes, Fuga is still living at the very same place as he was in episode 1 and 40. He was ambushed by his enemies not only once, but twice(!), and he still lives at the exact same location and hasn't moved an inch to a new one. Very "smart" decision, Mr. Fuga Kudou! And Glion, accompanied by Gaelya, is seemingly pointing a gun at Fuga? My hypothesis in episode 46 thread was very likely correct. Gaelya injecting her mark into Rinne's hand in episode 46 did have something to do with KR Majade's new form called KR Twilight Majade. It's revealed in the preview that it uses a combination of KR Majade's and Atropos' powers. Does it mean that Atropos will be absorber by Rinne and cease to exist? It looks like KR Twilight Majade will kick Gaelya's ass and destroy her. If Gaelya is indeed defeated in the next episode, who will get the chance to absorb the 33% portion of her power? Gigist? Glion? Houtarou/Nijigon? Or perhaps even Spanner? Episode 48 was also written by Akiko Inoue, like episodes 40-41 and 46-47. No wonder Fuga still lives at the same place! Haha. |

How the tables have turned between the Valvarads. Though Supana was an asshole, Lachesis was outright sadistic villainess who disgusts Supana. Lachesis is now the one attempting to convince Supana to abandon his insane plan. Some pointed out that Supana's plan was stupid because Kamen Riders need Chemies... and they actually addressed it in this episode, which explains Supana's real plan. The genocide of the Chemies remain, but as a way to transmute himself and beat Abyssail Kings, sounds like George in the later parts of Revice, as he aimed to eliminate all superpowers from the world, even at the cost of innocent lives (the Chemies).
Tamami remains in high spirits despite all the chaos and Houtaro's revelation (dunno if the dad would play off Houtaro's own reveal here), and it got her praised by Rinne, though still I feel that Yukimi has played a more impactful and involved role as a mother figure. With memories returning, another character from the past, Asahi, has returned, suggesting that Houtaro should express his feelings in a different way. However, this attempt doesn't succeed, as Supana still insists on following their own path. The main duo almost hitting Kajiki provides a good and funny moment. In the eventual clash, Rainbow Gotchard didn't destroy Valvarad as hard as Tycoon Bujin Sword did to Buffa Zombie, though on equal footing (both on base form), Houtaro is now able to defeat Supana. However, as usual, Houtaro doesn't thoroughly explain why Supana's path is wrong, other than urging them to stick together, like how humans (as Houtaro has clearly encountered, like those thugs) can be just awful rather than solely blaming Chemies, and that addressing human issues is equally important. Houtaro simply shares his desires, much like in Revice when Ikki confronted Daiji, expressing his wish for everyone's happiness. The Abyssail Kings have always disregarded the dolls, so it was only a matter of time before Gaelijah would really harm the Dark Sisters. Now, she has disposed of Clotho and subjected Atropos to pain in order to turn her into the perfect being. It was unexpected to see Geryon, who appears to be a villain of the Isaac, Orteca, or Agariyama type, genuinely loving Atropos as a daughter. This has led him to become an ally of convenience, much like Kuroto and Daichi (who are also really horrible), to join forces with the heroes to save her. It's possible that some might interpret this as Geryon being 'redeemed', which is frustrating to me.

I'll start with the most memorable. The fight between Gotchard and Valvarad was amazing. I liked that they let Spanner show off all his skills. Also, the conversation was very well placed and there was no feeling of the typical battles between the protagonist and controversial riders, when there is a lot of chatter, and in the end it all ends in de-henshin. Immediately Spanner was left without a belt, which means he is at least no longer a Valvarad rider. It's also funny that Kurogane expressed almost all the complaints that the audience had against him to Houtarou. Apparently, the scriptwriters still monitor fan forums.
Regarding Spanner's plan: the risk is bordering on madness. Honestly, it was too early for him to be awarded an A-rating; he could use a little more work on his textbooks. Personally, like Kyoka, I think that he would not have survived the merger with all Chemies or would have turned into an insane monster. Fortunately, we won’t find out (except perhaps in V-Cinema, where there will be a Spanner with a parallel universe). Kurogane is also very skilled at handling Dark Flame. Although Darkness always first gives strength, and only then takes payment. So it's ok for children's fantasy. Clotho apparently decided that Galijah was a better ally than Geryon. And the scriptwriters decided that ropes or handcuffs were too cruel for a child and tied Atropos with a red ribbon. Galijah also confirmed that the basis of Atropos is Rinne. Her plan is to drain the life from the original into the doll, turning it into an obedient super-kaijin. Well, unlike Spanner, she can see the future, so the plan is quite workable. In the preview, Geryon is hysterical over Atropos, but it may have less to do with genuine feelings and more to do with his unbalanced, selfish nature. Still, initially he called Atropos a doll, not a daughter, and it is unknown whether his love will withstand disappointment. Also: Majade's new form! And, contrary to rumors, not black. |

It seems to me that for Gaelya the conditional super-Atropos is a tool, not a means. Unlike the other two kings, she clearly avoids participating in fights (apparently, it is not always possible to see into the future in time) and the newly appeared pet monster will distract Gotchard, who will remain the only remaining rider and the only threat to her plan. However, the preview has already hinted that this time her prophecy will not come true.

im getting the feeling that something bad is going to happen to houtarou in episode 49 or 48, just from when houtarou saved rinnie from death during the daybreak ark, he's changed time and now it's probably going to be him that takes the sacrifice.

Similar to Ultimate Revi VS Holy Live, this is also a blue Rider VS pink Rider fight, except the alignments here are reversed. Spanner's plan is like Kento's plan to seal the Seiken Swords. The result would be to defeat the villain and save humanity, (unlike Daiji's), but Houtarou admits that he's selfish and refuses to give up on his friends, which I think is admirable and courageous, a hero who strives for the best case scenario while his rival is resigned to a terrible compromise of despair and loss. Houtarou's idealism reminds Spanner of his past self, so it's like Spanner is fighting against his "former weakness", which actually turns out to be stronger than him. Houtarou's here to prove that he's not someone who only preaches about his Gotcha, but is determined to protect it with his fists as well, which even gets a small acknowledgement from Spanner.

Well, even Olteca seems to feel sentimental about Tamaki and Aguilera. Some villains are just dishonest about their feelings like that, or were conditioned to react destructively to those feelings. Houtarou claimed that the world of gold was Geryon's Gotcha, but looks like Atropos is even more valuable to him than that. Shows that a life is invaluable, worth more than an inordinate amount of gold.
